A couple united to impact: Richy and Vimbai!

There are more golden linings to their union!

For Richard and Vimbai Masendeke, their nuptials were never a mere recitation of the almost rhetoric vow “till death do us apart”, them being committed Christians where the phrase is popular in weddings and marital unions.

There are more golden linings to their union!

The couple are the driving force behind design and construction company, Richvim Construction established in 2017 to shift the terrain in provision of multi-disciplinary design and construction services.

“Richvim Construction offers multi-tasks in design, construction, assessment and project management for both local and diaspora-based customers,” says co-director Richard.

He added that his untiring love to wife, Vimbai, is also inspired that they had literally nothing as they entered the matrimony — thanks to the mutual commitment of an enterprising stable relationship.

“Rich plus Vimbai is equal to Richvim Construction,” Richard said.

“We started together with nothing (referring to the matrimonial union) and we are still going strong as inseparable as fish and water in our affairs.”

Headquartered in Harare, the company, has now established new offices in Bulawayo as it eyes nationwide expansion although its services premised on quality, innovation and customer focus are already offered nationwide.

Richard, an engineer by profession, leads a young dynamic team of engineering and business professionals at the organisation.

While geared to “spice up” the construction sector the company is also committed to positively impact on the communities through giving back to the community.

Hence on  June 21 they are hosting a second edition of the Richvim Construction soccer and netball tournament for both girl and boys’ teams who will vie for trophies, sport kits and prize money in the founder’s hometown, Masvingo province.

Zivezano Secondary School,   where Richard attended secondary education, would host the event where other local high schools namely, Daitai, Makoni and Rambakutemwa will battle it out in this year’s edition.

“This initiative is meant to promote and identify talent as well as giving back to the community,” Richard said.

“Several schools will converge at my former school and the theme of the event is dubbed MAP.”

MAP is an acronym of motivate, advertise your business and plough back; which is the essence strategy of the company in its quest to capitalise on its business and social impact on the communities.

Last year the organisation organised a career guidance fair at the same venue where various professional — from lawyers, accountants, medical doctors, engineers to skills men such as electricians, motor mechanics, and painters came to motivate and interact with the learners in this southern part of the country.

Earlier in 2023, a similar sport tournament which was described as a major success and graced by prominent people in the area including public officials was also held in the same spirit.

The wholly Zimbabwean enterprise also has an innovative idea of prompting back home investments by the diaspora community through making their construction investment right from land securing, architecture design, material mobilisation and construction.

It services both individuals either home based or based abroad, corporates, local municipalities among others, including churches.

“Zimbabwe has several construction services companies since time immemorial, but as Richvim Construction we want to spice up the sector in a unique and vibrant way,” said Richard.

“Most young entrepreneurs fail to man up when they make errors or when they fail.”

According to a 2024 we economic forum online article family businesses “can build a collective legacy by collaborating and co-creating solutions that benefit humanity, promote well-being and foster a flourishing economy based on ethics and morality”.

Determination, honesty, transparency and high-end business transparency are the benchmarks behind the company’s operations and the recipe for success, said Richard.

While thanking the growing loyal customer base for being the solid ground for its road to success, Richard warned the public not to be deceived by marauding pretenders who use various digital platforms posting good pictures of good workmanship service which they didn’t render themselves.
