THE Bulawayo City Council has disconnected water to various suburbs in the city as it conducts maintenance work at Tuli, 6J and Rifle Range reservoirs.
Maintenance work started yesterday and is expected to end today.
Bulawayo town clerk Christopther Dube revealed the development in a notice to residents yesterday.
He said the repairs were concentrated on Old Esigodini Road and Percy Avenue valve chambers, adding that the dates might change depending on the progress of the repairs.
“Repairs are concentrated at corner Old Esigodini Road and Percy Avenue valve chambers, residents and stakeholders are advised that dates and the duration are subject to change depending on the progress of the repairs of the pipeline,” Dube said.
“The affected areas that (are) supplied by the (pipe) from Tuli Reservoir are Holiday Inn, Ascot, Khumalo, Parklands, Queens Park, Mahatshula, Woodville, Kingsdale, Hopeville, Killarney, Fairbridge, Lochview, Sunnighill, Riverside Marlands, Glencoe, Waterford, Manningdale, Willsgrove, Buena Vista, Douglasdale, Fortunes Gate, Selborne Park, Matsheumhlophe, Burnside (East of Burnside Road), Mqabuko Heights, Harrisvale, Trenance, Richmond and Sauerstown.”
Dube said water shedding would be temporarily suspended in affected areas from June 9 to 11.
He said supplies to affected areas would resume after the completion of the maintenance exercise.

“The City of Bulawayo wishes to apologise to its valued consumers for the inconvenience likely to be caused and assures the affected (residents) that supplies will be restored after the completion of works, subsequent charging of the Tuli pipelines, 6J and Rifle Range reservoir to satisfactory levels,” Dube said.
