TELONE’S new coach Herbert Maruwa is assessing three former Warriors players as he moves to strengthen his squad and ensure they stay afloat in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
The WiFi Boys had a terrible start to the season on their return to topflight football, as they sit 14th on the log standings.
Their poor start to the season cost coach Tendai Chikuni his job as he was replaced by Maruwa last month.
With the July transfer window beckoning, it appears the former Dynamos and Harare City coach, who was given the mandate to help the team avoid relegation, will make some changes to the playing personnel.
He has publicly complained over the poor quality of most of the players at his disposal.
Now, he is assessing former Warriors defenders Jimmy Dzingai and Victor Kamhuka as well as goalkeeper Chris Mverechena with the hope of signing them on.
The trio has been training with the team in recent weeks.
“Yes, we invited them. They are training with us because we need to reinforce our defence and our goalkeeping department as well,” Maruwa confirmed.

TelOne have been poor defensively, conceding the most goals this season.
They have shipped in 20 goals in 14 matches so far.
The defensive crew of Trust Nyabinde, Admire Dzumbunu, Eria Mafirenyika and Nelson Tachi has been suspect this far and it looks like Maruwa will shuffle the department.
Goalkeeper Matripples Muleya has also not been at his best since joining the club at the start of the season, forcing the coach to look for an alternative.
TelOne face Harare giants Caps United on Sunday afternoon at Bata Stadium, with high hopes of ending their dry spell.
In the 14 matches that they have played so far, they have only managed to win two games.
