Harare man jailed for breaking into offices

Nelson Mutsvangwa (39) had pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Harare provincial magistrate Caroline Matanga.

A Harare man will spend an effective five years and months in jail after being convicted on nine counts of unlawful entry.

Prosecutor Dzidzai Josiah said Mutsvangwa targeted ofice premises around Harare’s central business district where he stole computers and their accessories.

In one incident, which occurred on May 20, Mutsvangwa was caught in the act by after gaining entry into the office using duplicate keys.

He had packed three Lenovo laptops and was on his way out when he was caught.
