Prosecutor said  Rebecca Kashaya gave Bondamakara the silver Volvo XC60 for evaluation sometime in March this year.

A Harare man allegedly stole his sister-in-law’s car after he was tasked to find buyers for the vehicle.

Tawanda Danford Bondamakara (40) of Unit A in Chitungwiza appeared before magistrate Apolonia Marutya  last Friday facing charges of stealing a motor vehicle and was remanded to tomorrow for continuation of his bail hearing.

Prosecutor said  Rebecca Kashaya gave Bondamakara the silver Volvo XC60 for evaluation sometime in March this year.

He allegedly informed Kashaya that he had found a buyer who was willing to pay US$10 000 for the car and was told to set up a meeting with the potential buyer.

Bondamakara allegedly failed to  bring the car and Kashaya filed a complaint at ZRP Borrowdale police station.

Prosecutor Thomas Chanakira  said he must not be released on bail because he was related to the victim.

Chinakira also said Bondamakara had allegedly committed the crime while on bail for another pending case of the same nature, a claim that was denied by his lawyer.
