ZIMBABWE international midfielder Marshall Munetsi has been honoured by his French side Stade de Reims after making a century in appearances for the club.

The Zimbabwean midfielder played his 100th game for the French Ligue 1 side on Sunday.

He featured for the entire ninety minutes as Reims lost 2-1 to Marseille at Stade Auguste-Deluane II but that did not stop the club from celebrating him.

Reims officials honoured him before the kick-off, by presenting him with a special memento.

“100 matches in Red and White, let’s celebrate our tireless midfielder Marshall Munetsi,” the club said in a translated post on Twitter.

The Warriors’ man started playing for Reims in 2019 and played his first game for the club in September of that year when he came in as a substitute against Lille.

He has not looked back since then, where his exploits has seen him attracting interest from English Premier League clubs.

Last month he scored his fifth goal of the season when Reims beat Toulouse 3-0 at home.

Last season, Munetsi played 24 matches for Reims and scored five goals.

He joined Reims from South African side Orlando Pirates.

He is a regular for the Warriors and have been vocal on the impasse between the Sports and Recreation Commission and Zifa, which has led to Zimbabwe’s suspension by Fifa for government interference.

Fifa want the SRC to restore the Felton Kamambo board restored to office before the suspension can be lifted.
