NORTHERN Region Division One side Golden Eagles have scored a first after partnering Innovative Technologies to provide the club with GPS technology to track player movement and improve their performance.
The two parties announced the partnership at the team’s training base at Ellis Robins School in Harare yesterday.
Eagles, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the topflight last season, released a statement announcing their newfound partnership.
“Golden Eagles Football Club is pleased to announce Innovative Technologies as its official technology partner. As part of the partnership, Innovative Technologies has equipped Golden Eagles with GPS vests. These vests use GPS technology to track player movements, providing valuable data to coaches and trainers to improve performance, prevent injuries and enhance overall fitness. The use of GPS vests has become increasingly popular in football, and Golden Eagles is thrilled to have the latest technology to help take their game to the next level,” read the statement.
Golden Eagles commercial director Mike Madoda said the technology would enhance the team’s performance.
“We are excited to welcome Innovative Technologies as our official technology partner,” Madoda said.
“Their expertise in the information technology is unmatched, and we look forward to working with them to advance our club’s technological capabilities. With the GPS vests, we aim to enhance our performance on the field and achieve better results this season,” he said.
Innovative Technologies managing director Tapiwa Mukori said the technology will make an impact in local football.
