However, Bekker shot an impressive 1 – under par 72 in the final round but it was not enough to see her catch-up with Nyamukondiwa

“I feel great to have won the Manicaland Amateur because I wasn’t really looking forward to it and my game at the moment isn’t so great.

For me to have won it just means a lot and I am grateful to my coach who has been helping me work on my game,” she said after the tournament.

“My target was just to try and shoot a score which is not above 8 – over and I actually managed to shoot 8 - over so I am happy. It feels great to be back home and playing these tournaments. I think next up is the Chapman Grand Slam and I think if I keep working on improving my game and also be a bit more confident about my game I can still do well there,” Nyamukondiwa added.
